Better World Family Nepal
struggling today for a better tomorrow
The foundation for a Better World Family Nepal was laid in March of 2006. Before the organization was even conceived Nabraj Lama, founder B.W.F.N. was casually assisting in the filming of “The Last Hope.” The development of a friendship between Nabraj and Hezekiah Allen culminated in a discussion of the need for unity in “overcoming the worldly problems we face.” At that meeting it was decided to form the Better World Family Nepal organization. The idea went public at an informational meeting on April 19 but it was not until April 22 that the Better World Family Nepal was truly born into the worlds imagination.
In the middle of political turmoil the Better World Family Nepal came together for the first time to express its solidarity for peace. Throughout the 22nd the group marched under a peace banner and the Green and Purple. The event was sponsored by the Better World Family in California, marking the first official act of international cooperation for the organization.
Since that day the Better World Family Nepal has carried out a number of other projects.
Currently the B.W.F.N. is trying to make their operation self sufficient. They have built a network of like minded artists or craftspeople which translates to a product base for their fundraising. At the same time a team on the west coast of the U.S. is working to create the marketing and distribution infrastructure. Better World Family CEO, Hezekiah Allen is quite hopeful that the organization in Nepal should be at least partially self-sufficient by September, 2006.
